The Socratic School of Language offers small-group adult Spanish classes designed for busy adults in the Washington, DC area who want to build real, usable language skills in a structured and supportive environment. Our program emphasizes practical communication, consistency, and steady progress, making it ideal for busy professionals, parents, and community members.
Classes are held in the evening near the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, DC and follow a clear, two-level sequence to ensure meaningful progress.

Practical Spanish I
Dates: February 17 – March 26, 2026

Foundational Spanish (Practical Spanish I) is the first course in our adult Spanish sequence and is designed for beginners or adults with limited prior exposure to Spanish.
In this course, students will:
Build a strong foundation in Spanish pronunciation and listening comprehension
Learn essential vocabulary for everyday interactions
Practice forming simple, accurate sentences
Begin speaking Spanish with confidence in real-life situations
Participate in guided conversation from the very first class
This course meets twice per week over a six-week session. Enrollment is limited to maintain a focused and effective learning environment.
Foundational Spanish (Practical Spanish I) is a prerequisite for Practical Spanish II.

Practical Spanish II builds upon the foundation established in Practical Spanish I and is intended for students who already have a basic command of Spanish.
In this course, students will:

Strengthen listening comprehension in everyday and workplace scenarios
Express ideas with greater confidence and clarity
Prerequisite: Completion of Foundational Spanish (Practical Spanish I). No exceptions without instructor approval.
